ROYAL MARINE BASE CHIVENOR, England – British sailors and marines held for nearly two weeks in Iran were blindfolded, bound and threatened with prison if they did not say they had strayed into Iranian waters, a Royal Navy lieutenant who was among the capitives said Friday.

Lt. Felix Carman, safely home with his 14 colleagues, said the crew faced harsh interrogation by their Iranian captors and slept in stone cells on piles of blankets. Unable to see and kept isolated, they heard weapons cocking.

“We were blindfolded, our hands were bound and we were forced up against a wall. Throughout our ordeal we faced constant psychological pressure,” Carman said. “All of us were kept in isolation. We were interrogated most nights and presented with two options. If we admitted that we’d strayed, we’d be on a plane to (Britain) pretty soon. If we didn’t, we faced up to seven years in prison.”
Isn’t it a sad day when the president of Iran appears more diplomatic then the president of the US?

I am a seventeen-year-old girl from Illinois. I am planning on joining the military through their Delayed Entry Program (DEP). I scored a 96 on my ASVAB and am quite interested in the Cryptologic Linguist Option. Which branch of service would be best suited to me? Right now I am deciding between Air Force and Marines, but I’m open to Navy, Coast Guard, or Army as well. If any of you could help me on this matter it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

Hi,

I have currently got three tropical freshwater tanks and one coldwater tank. I recently went to the London aquarium and was so impressed by the Marine fish that I want to keep some. I have been to a local dealer and he had a nano tank with heaters, filters ETC. (even with the water) For £80. Now i’m going to buy it this weekend but I would greatly appreciate some advice on how to get started. I know that nano marine tanks are not as good as the larger ones but a nano tank is all I have room for.

I would like to keep a pair of clown fish possibly an anemone, a royal gramma, and possibly something else. I will probably use fake corals.

Could someone please tell me when to get the live rock, suggest another fish that would look nice and just give me some general advice please.

I want to be an officer in the military . i want to see combat and have a lot of travel , but not be bored all the time. My grandfather is a retired Captain of the Royal Lao Army during vietnam war and came to America to train at Fort Knox. He tells me that the marines,air force and army can get stattioned wherever they want and the navy is always on a ship.
